Dot Art is a style of painting created by the dotting of paint, rather than brush strokes. In its finest form, it is called Pointillism, where very small, distinct dots of pure colour are applied in patterns to form an image. In Dot Art, the dots are traditionally applied with a stick, but various instruments can be used - the bottom of a pencil, a stylus, rods...I use the bottom of wooden crochet hooks! The dots vary in size and colour, and are applied to a surface to create beautiful patterns and designs. The versatility of this art form allows you to experiment on many different materials - wood, slate, paper, canvas and many more. It is the most relaxing and mindful activity I have ever found over the years.
